It’s been a while since my last post, and so I thought I would share my latest handmade creation. I made this cute dress for my granddaughter. It’s pink polka dot print in 100% cotton. The birds, branch and leaves are machine applique and the swirls off the branches are hand embroidered. I added a sheer pink bow with a tiny pearl.
I enjoyed making this little dress, and would recommend this pattern. Just remember to take measurements instead of going by the ready to wear sizes in the stores. The size my granddaughter needed was smaller than her regular store bought clothing.
I would love to hear from you. If you have questions or comments let me know.
Today I made Kolache for the very first time!
I loved them as a kid. I remember when my Grandma in NE made hers…mm-mm! They were amazing.
I followed a video with Kristyna Montano, if your interested in making this yummy treat for yourself.
I made some with the farmers cheese mixture, poppy-seed mixture, strawberry and triple berry jam and orange marmalade.
I just thought I would share my latest project. I made this sweet little wrist rattle for my great-nephew.
Hey! Have you ever been excited to start a new project, whether it be knitting, crafting, sewing or writing? This just happened to me. I couldn’t wait to start my next project. It had been a full day and it was late. I was tired, but really wanted to knit anyway. I had just finished my boots and hat knitting project.
I decided that I would knit a matching bunny rattle. I looked for my ball of gray yarn, but couldn’t find it in my knitting bag. I checked under and around the recliner. I glanced over at my cat Pumpkin. He looked up at me, his eyes full of innocence. I scratched my head and thought Oh well, I’ll just use the blue yarn instead. I still had two strands of the gray yarn leftover for the eyes and nose.
I followed the pattern and kept track of my rows on a post it note pad. Things were going well, and I was cozy and warm with my throw across my lap. Before I knew it I was nodding off in between stitches. When I had finally decided it was time to head to bed, I looked down at my work and saw that I had purled where I shouldn’t in my knit rows!
Well, it’s kind of funny so I thought I would share my mistakes.
How about you? Have you ever sleep knitted?
Today I’m starting over in the missing gray yarn. Yep, I found it in the bottom of my knitting bag. It was there all along!
I’ll post pics of the baby blanket and rattle when I’m done.
My niece is going to have her first baby!
She’s going to have a boy and she has decided on navy and gray instead of the traditional pastel blues or greens.
So I found these flannel prints at Jo-Ann fabrics, and I ‘ll make baby a cozy blanket. I’m also going to knit the hat and boots pictured in Erika Knight’s Natural Nursery Knits book. I’m using Wool-ease yarn.
I’ll post more photos when I finish them.
So how about you? What are you currently working on? I would love know!
Happy crafting !!
Well, just an update on my Weekender sweater. I’m making progress. So far, so good! Save
Hey Everyone! I just wanted to share some pictures I took yesterday at the Apple Harvest Festival located in our little town of Burlington WV. It’s the first weekend in October and it’s a fundraiser for the Children’s home. There are crafts, flea-market vendors, music, entertainment and lots of good food. They have amazing Apple Butter and Apple Dumplings. In fact, you can watch them make the Apple butter in huge copper kettles.
What I’m really excited to show you is the Artisan Village. This was something new this year. Artists of many talents were able to demonstrate their skills.
Unique handmade instruments.
Not sure what to call this…a Carver? He uses a chainsaw to make these beautiful pieces.
This is his work area. A little loud, but very cool to watch.
Handmade goat milk soaps, lotions etc.
Painted rock artist.

I couldn’t resist these adorable handmade earrings.
I also fell in love with this gorgeous hand knit beret.
